WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

Every one of our members has a story to tell. A story that begins with a desire to better themselves, to be more than a product of their environment. Many of them face challenges on a daily basis yet every day they come to program and train hard. Every day they are working to be better than the day before.

Our members’ families do not have the resources to provide for themselves the opportunities that Team Go Get It creates for them. All our members - whether competing or not - seize that opportunity and commit to achieving the best the they can be. Some of our members have achieved notable success - Nisa is now an Olympic candidate for Puerto Rico, most of the others have won multiple tournaments.

The side benefits of participation in the team are improved attendance and participation in school, staying off the streets and the realization of an inner strength to be disciplined and accountable to both themselves and each other.

Team Go Get It provides all equipment and covers competition costs, travel and as many associated other costs as finances allow. Put simply, the cost of participation in sport should not be a barrier to participation. The coaches donate their time with a common goal and drive to serve the youth of our community through their love of boxing, school work comes first and a desire to provide opportunity.

How can I help as an individual?

Team Go Get It is a 501 (c)(3) registered not for profit - registered in the state of New York and with the IRS.  Donations towards Team Go Get It are tax deductible under Internal Revenue Code 170 and will be acknowledged accordingly upon confirmation of receipt
